A PORN STAR IN POLITICS-WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARD?

Yesterday, Stormy Daniels announced she wouldn’t run for a Senate seat.

The statement she made brings to light the double standard in Washington. If political figures are going down because of sex scandals and conduct unbecoming of a civil servant, why not allow someone to run who has nothing to hide? Stormy is a smart woman and she was probably right in choosing not to run for office. There is a saying that you should become a millionaire first, then run for office. And it would have been downright impossible to raise the campaign funds without a little help from her own bank account.

Why should she not be taken seriously? Because she is an accomplished actress in adult films? When Marey Carey ‘ran’ for the Governor’s seat in California, she was dismissed as a empty headed bimbo looking for media attention. But Stormy seemed to have a firm grasp on the politics of  being a political office holder. I’ve had the pleasure of working with her and seeing her run a show and she knows what she’s doing. She has a firm grasp on everything that needs to be done and how to accomplish it.

In the future, if someone announces they are seeking a seat, let them bring themselves up to the level of the other candidates. I doubt there would be a vast difference between the politicos and a newbie.

After all, if you can survive with a career in porn, you can probably survive the Senate. In the end, how you get what you want, is politics 101.
